If you upload your CSV file to any of our bulk tools and your special characters are not correctly displayed, it means that the file was most likely not exported as UTF-8, which prevents Hunter from reading them correctly.
When you export your list from Excel (or whichever spreadsheet software you use), you will need to ensure that the export is encoded in UTF-8.
That can easily be fixed by exporting your existing or new file as UTF-8 from the spreadsheet software you use and re-importing it to Hunter.
Convert Excel files as CSV with UTF-8 encoding
If you want to save an Excel file as a CSV with UTF-8 encoding, follow these steps:
Open the Excel file.
Go to the File tab.
Choose Save As.
From the drop-down list under Save as type, select CSV UTF-8 (Comma Delimited) (*.csv).
Click Save.
Convert a Google Sheet file as a CSV file with UTF-8 encoding
If you want to save a Google Sheets file as a CSV with UTF-8 encoding, follow these steps:
Navigate to File > Open > Upload or drag and drop your CSV file.
Select File > Download > Comma Separated Values (.csv).
Find a location on your drive and click Save.
Google Sheets saves the content of the current sheet automatically as a UTF-8 encoded CSV file.
