Segment and tag your leads and companies

Learn how to segment leads and add tags in Hunter to organize contacts, filter your database, and manage leads more efficiently.

In the Leads section, you can organize your contacts using the Insights panel and tags.

Insights give you a quick visual overview of your leads based on specific attributes (such as verification status or sending status). Tags allow you to categorize leads and companies using custom labels so you can easily filter and manage them.

These tools help you quickly find the leads you want to work with.

What is the Insights panel?

The Insights panel gives you a visual overview of your leads, broken down by many attributes, such as Verification status, Country, etc. It appears as a collapsible sidebar on the right side of your Leads table and works for both your People and Company lists.

How to add a chart

You can add up to 10 charts simultaneously to the Insights panel.

  1. In the Insights panel, click + Add a new chart.

  2. Select the attribute you want to visualize.

  3. The chart appears immediately in the panel.

You can choose from the following attributes: Confidence score, Country, Email, Full name, Industry, Job title, Last activity, Last contacted, LinkedIn URL, Phone number, Sending status, Source, Sync status, Twitter, and Website.

How to remove a chart

Click the ✕ on the chart you want to remove.

Configure how many options a chart displays

By default, each chart shows at least up to 5 options. Values beyond that are grouped into "Other". You can adjust this:

  1. Click the ⚙️ icon on the chart you want to configure.

  2. Update the Options to display number.

Click Save configuration.

Filter your leads from the Insights panel

Clicking on any segment in a chart filters your leads table to show only the leads matching that value. For example, clicking Valid in the Verification status chart will filter your list to show only leads with a valid email address.

To clear the filter, click the segment again or remove the filter from the filter bar at the top of the table.

Tag your leads and companies

Tags allow you to categorize leads and companies with custom labels.

You can use tags to:

  • Organize leads by campaign or project

You can add unlimited tags and use them to filter your leads later.
