Segment and tag your leads and companies

Learn how to segment leads and add tags in Hunter to organize contacts, filter your database, and manage leads more efficiently.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

In the Leads section, you can organize your contacts using segmentation blocks and tags.

Segmentation gives you a quick visual overview of your leads based on specific attributes (such as verification status or sending status). Tags allow you to categorize leads and companies using custom labels so you can easily filter and manage them.

These tools help you quickly find the leads you want to work with.

Use segmentation blocks to analyze your leads

At the top of the Leads page, Hunter displays three attribute blocks showing how your leads are distributed across different attributes.

These blocks help you:

  • Quickly understand your lead data

  • Identify groups of leads (e.g., verified emails)

  • Apply filters instantly

Each block represents a selected attribute, such as:

  • Email verification status

  • Sending status

  • Lead status

  • Other available lead attributes

Filter leads using segmentation blocks

You can instantly filter your leads by clicking any segment inside a block.

  1. Go to Leads

  2. Look at the segmentation blocks at the top of the page

  3. Click on a specific segment (for example Verified)

Hunter will automatically filter the leads list based on that attribute.

This lets you quickly switch between different lead views without manually setting filters.

You can use tags to:

  • Organize leads by campaign or project

  • Mark leads by industry, location, or workflow stage

You can add unlimited tags and use them to filter your leads later.
