Sales Tax

In some States, Hunter is now required to collect and remit Sales Tax.

Updated over 6 months ago

Following a decision by the US Supreme Court (South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc.), Hunter is now required to collect and remit Sales Tax. This decision applies even if we don't have a physical presence in a State.

Not all States have taken advantage of this decision, and when they do, some chose not to tax SaaS (Software as a Service). On top of that, tax collection only applies once we reach thresholds that are unique to each State.

But we take care of this complexity for you. Before each subscription or renewal, we look up the Sales Tax rates applicable to your business and update your invoice accordingly.
