The sender name is the name recipients see as the sender when they receive your emails from Hunter Sequences. It helps recipients quickly recognize who the email is from and can impact open rates and trust.
How sender names work in Hunter Sequences
When you set up an email sequence, you choose which email account will send the messages. Hunter automatically assigns a sender name based on that account.
Here’s how Hunter determines it:
If available, the sender name is taken from your email account settings
If not available, Hunter uses the name from your Hunter account profile
This sender name is shown consistently to all recipients of emails sent from that account.
How to change the sender name
You can customize the sender name at any time, to do so:
Go to Sequences
Open the Settings tab
Click Email Accounts
Find the email account you want to update and click on Edit
Update the value in the Sender name field
Click Update to save your changes
💡 For Microsoft/Outlook connections, the sender name must be changed in your Microsoft settings.
What to expect after changing the sender name
The updated sender name applies to all future emails sent from that email account
Existing sequences will automatically use the new sender name
Recipients will see the updated name in their inbox the next time an email is sent
Common questions
Does changing the sender name affect my email address?
No. Only the display name changes. The email address stays the same. Can different sequences use different sender names?
Sender names are tied to email accounts, not individual sequences. To use different names, connect multiple email accounts. If I use Email Account Rotation, will my sender name automatically update?
Yes. The sender name is automatically set based on the sender email account.
If you use multiple sender addresses and want the sender name to change accordingly in your email content, you can use the Sender Name attribute when creating your email sequence. This attribute automatically pulls the sender name associated with each sender email account.
⬆️ The above works for Google and SMTP/IMAP connections. Unfortunately, the sender name cannot be retrieved automatically for Microsoft/Outlook accounts when using the Sender Name attribute.
