What Is the AI Writing Assistant?

The AI Writing Assistant in Email Sequences helps you create effective cold emails faster by analyzing your audience, outreach goals, and business context. It’s fully integrated into the Email Sequence builder and tailors content based on:

  • Audience persona – who you’re targeting.

  • Your business information – problem, solution, and unique selling points.

  • Outreach objectives – what you want recipients to do.

  • Tone, style, and other advanced settings you choose.

The AI saves time, improves message relevance, and makes personalization at scale easier.

Hunter uses ChatGPT to generate this content.


How to start the AI writing assistant

The AI Writing Assistant is available to all paid plan users. Free plan users don't have access to the AI writing Assistant.

To start it:

  1. Go to the Content tab in your email sequence.

  2. Press the Generate sequence button on the bottom left side of the screen.

  3. The assistant will generate your email content based on your inputs and settings.

💡Changed your mind?

  • If you don't want to use the AI-generated content after you've done it, simply delete the body and subject line of the email.


Required fields when building a sequence with the AI writing assistant

Here's a list of everything the AI writing assistant needs to generate high-performing cold email content.

1. Audience persona

Describe the type of person you’re contacting (e.g., “HR leaders in tech startups”).

  • Manual entry – you define the persona.

  • Auto-generate – AI scans your leads to create one.


2. About your business

Help the AI understand what you do so it can write relevant copy. Provide:

  • Problem – the challenge your audience faces.

  • Solution – what you offer.

  • USP (Unique selling proposition) – what makes you stand out

3. About your sequence

Set your sequence’s direction:

  • Goal – Book a meeting, share a resource, raise brand awareness, invite to an event, introduce your product, or get a reply.

  • Tone – Friendly, confident, curious, empathetic, enthusiastic, or professional.

  • Style – Concise, CTA-focused, problem-solving, or conversational.

  • Follow-ups – Number of additional emails sent after the initial message to increase response rates, reinforce your value, and re-engage recipients who didn’t reply.


4. Advanced settings

Fine-tune your email generation:

  • Message length – Short, medium, or long.

  • Language – English, French, Spanish, or German.

  • Framework (optional) – Use formats like AIDA or PAS.

When ready, click the "Generate sequence" button.


How it works

When you click Generate sequence, Hunter automatically creates your email draft. You can freely add or remove any parts you like.

In the Preview step, the AI assistant will further personalize the email using public recipient data collected by Hunter. You can also manually edit or add content at this stage.
