How can I find decision makers using Hunter?

Learn how to find decision makers in Domain Search and Discover using the Decision Maker filter.

Updated this week

Hunter provides multiple ways to help you identify decision makers within a company, both in Domain Search and Discover.

Finding decision makers in Domain Search

When you perform a Domain Search for a specific company, you can use the Decision Makers tab available at the top of the results.

By selecting this tab, the view will prioritize contacts holding senior-level positions, such as CEOs, COOs, Vice Presidents, and Directors.

You can further refine your results by:

  • Department filter: Focus your search on a specific team, like Marketing, HR, or Finance.

  • Job Title filter: Search for contacts with particular roles by entering job title keywords (e.g., "Head of Sales", "VP of Operations").

This setup allows you to easily find the key people you need before choosing to reveal their email addresses.

Finding Decision Makers in Discover

When using Discover, you can also identify decision-makers at a company by clicking on it to expand the company information.

After clicking, a new panel will open, showing the list of available contacts.

Here, just like in Domain Search, you can select the Decision Makers tab to quickly focus on senior profiles.

You can also apply Department and Job Title filters within this panel to refine your search even further.

This process makes it easy to move from identifying the right company to immediately identifying the right person inside that company.
