Finding companies

You can search using the AI Assistant or apply filters manually — or combine both.

  • Using the AI Assistant ✨

The AI Assistant turns a plain-language description of your target audience into the right search filters automatically. Just type what you're looking for and click the orange button, no need to set filters manually.

For example:

  • "Accounting companies in Germany"

  • "Fintech startups in the UK"

  • "SaaS companies with 50–200 employees in Europe"

You can also pick one of the suggested examples below the text field to get started. After your results appear, you can still adjust or add filters manually.

💡 The AI Assistant is limited to 10 searches/month on the free plan and 150 searches/month on paid plans.

After results appear, the AI may suggest ways to refine your search — for example, narrowing if there are too many results, or broadening if there are too few. Click Apply to use a suggestion, or type your own refinement directly.

  • Using manual filters

You can also build your search by selecting filters from the sidebar. Each filter includes Include and Exclude options, so you can zero in on exactly the right segment. Combine as many filters as you need.

Find similar companies

If you already have a company that's a great fit, use the Companies similar to filter to find lookalikes. Enter the company name and Hunter returns a list of businesses with a similar profile — no need to build filters from scratch.

💡 Companies similar to, Year founded, and Technologies are available on all paid plans.

Saving companies

You can save companies to your company leads and find emails for them later.

To avoid seeing companies you’ve already saved, use the dedicated Saved companies filter in Discover to hide companies that are already in your leads.

  • Save a single company

Open a company profile by clicking on it, then click Save company to add it to a new or existing list in your Leads Companies section. You can then find emails for it later.

  • Save companies in bulk

To save multiple companies at once:

  1. Select specific companies, or skip selection to save all results

  2. Click Save all companies (or Save selected if you've made a selection)

  3. Choose an existing list or create a new one

💡 Limits:

  • Free plan: up to 100 companies at a time

  • Paid plans: no limit

Saved companies will appear in Leads > Companies, where you can manage and segment them.

Tips for better results

  1. Combine filters — pairing Keywords with Technologies or Industry with Company size gives tighter, more relevant lists than using a single filter alone.

  2. Play with filters — it's free and helps you identify the right leads

  3. Use "Companies similar to" as a shortcut — if you already have one great-fit customer, this filter often outperforms building a manual filter set from scratch.

  4. Exclude what you've already saved — turn on the Saved companies filter to avoid re-prospecting contacts you've already worked.

  5. Follow before you reveal — if timing matters for your outreach, follow a company first and let Signals notify you when something changes (a new hire, a new email found) before spending credits.

  6. Check back periodically — Hunter's company data is regularly updated, so a search with few results today may return more matches in the future.
