Can't finish signing up? Here's what to try

A security check, a verification step, a refused email address or a second account can block sign-up. Here's how to get past each one.

Sorry you're stuck. When you sign up, we run a few quick checks to keep fake accounts out of Hunter. You usually won't notice them, but now and then one gets in the way of a real person. Find what you're seeing below.

Nothing happens when you click "Create account"

Before we create your account, Cloudflare runs a security check in the background. There's nothing to click, and it normally passes on its own.

If it fails, the "Create account" button does nothing, or you see a message saying verification couldn't be completed. Try these one at a time:

  1. Reload the page and fill in the form again.

  2. Turn off your VPN or proxy.

  3. Pause your ad blocker or privacy extensions on hunter.io, then reload.

  4. Check your device's date and time. If your clock is off, the check fails.

  5. Try another browser, or leave private/incognito mode.

👉 On a work network? Some company networks block this check for everyone. If nothing above works, try a different connection, like your phone's hotspot.

We're asking you to verify your account

Once your account is created, we may ask you to confirm who you are with a phone number or your LinkedIn profile. You only do this once.

We use your phone number for this check and nothing else. LinkedIn verification confirms who you are. It doesn't link the two accounts or give us access to your profile.

Can't verify at all? Maybe you don't have that number anymore, or the step keeps failing. Contact us and we'll help you through it.

Your email address isn't accepted

Most of the time, the address is already linked to a Hunter account. We allow one account per person, so the fix is to sign in to the account you already have. More on that in How many accounts can I create?

A few other reasons:

  • It's not a professional address. We don't accept disposable or temporary emails, or addresses on blocked domains. Use your work email instead.

  • You see "It isn't possible to use this domain." That address can't be used to sign up. Try another professional address.

None of these fit? Your inbox works fine, you've never had a Hunter account, and sign-up still refuses your address? Then send us your first and last name and the address you're using. In this case no account was created, so there's no activation email on its way.

You already have a Hunter account

Hunter gives one account to each person. If you already have an account and create a second one, we block access to the second account.

The fix is simple: sign in to your first account and keep using that one. Not sure which email you used? Contact us and we'll help you find it.

Want colleagues to use Hunter too? Invite them to your team from the Teams page instead of creating new accounts. See Getting Started with Teams for how it works.

💡 Please don't create another account to get around a block. It makes things harder to fix later. Write to us instead and we'll get you into the right account.
