Yes. On a paid all-in-one outreach plan, you can A/B test any step of an email sequence: the subject line, the email content, or both. Recipients are split evenly between Variant A and Variant B.
How to set up an A/B test
Open your sequence and go to the Content step.
On the step you want to test, toggle A/B test this step (top right).
Write your Variant B by changing the subject line, the content, or both.
đĄ You can add a Variant B to a step even after the sequence has launched. Recipients who have already passed that step continue as normal. Only recipients who reach it afterwards are split between the two variants.
Choose a winning variant
In the Statistics tab, opens, clicks and replies are shown for each variant. When you're ready, select the winning version. This ends the test, and the sequence continues with that variant.
A/B test from the API, or MCP
You don't have to use the sequence editor. You can also add a Variant B to a step, and check the state of its A/B test through:
The Hunter API
MCP connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT
âšď¸ Variant B must be different from Variant A. A Variant B identical to Variant A is refused.
Things to keep in mind
A/B testing is available on paid all-in-one outreach plans only.
The AI writing assistant can't be used on a step while A/B testing is active on it.
The Personalize emails toggle in the Preview step isn't available while A/B testing is active.
