Even after a sequence has been launched, you can still make changes. Some edits require pausing the sequence first — others don't.

Edit the sequence's content
ℹ️ This applies to both Active and Planned sequences. Even if your sequence is scheduled to start in the future, you still need to pause it before editing content.
Open the sequence and click Pause.
Go to the Content section and make your changes.
Changes are auto-saved and will apply to all emails that haven't been sent yet.
Resume the sequence when done.
Edit individual emails
When you edit an individual email inside the Emails section of your email sequence, changes apply only to that specific email, not to the whole sequence.
Go to the Emails section of the sequence.
Edit the content or subject line.
Changes are auto-saved.
If you're looking for a specific email, use the Email Status → Scheduled filter and the Step filter to narrow results, or search by recipient email address.
👉Edited emails will display an Edited tag. Any edits made to an individual email will override future updates or changes to the content section.
Add recipients to an existing sequence
You can add recipients to an active sequence without pausing it. You have several options to do so.
👉 Team members (non-admin, non-owner) can only add leads to their own sequences, not to sequences created by other team members.
From the Audience section
Go to the Audience tab inside the sequence → click + Add → choose your method. See How to add recipients to a Hunter sequence for details.
From the Leads section
Go to Leads → select the leads you want → click Add to sequence in the blue actions menu.
From Domain Search or Email Finder
Search for leads in Domain Search or Email Finder → click Add to sequence → choose an existing sequence or create a new one.
From the Engagement tab
To add leads to an existing sequence from the Engagement tab, select the lead or leads you want to add, then choose Add to a sequence.
The Engagement tab includes all leads who have previously opened or clicked your emails.
Copy recipients from another sequence
To reuse the audience from an existing sequence, use the Leads section.
Go to Leads.
Click Filters and select the source sequence under Sequence.
Select the leads.
Click Add to a sequence and choose your target sequence.
💡 This includes all recipients from the original sequence, regardless of whether they opened or clicked any emails.
You can narrow the list further by using the Sending status filter and selecting the status you want, such as opened, replied, or clicked.
Cancel or restore scheduled emails for specific recipients
If you want to stop the sequence for specific recipients only, you can cancel their scheduled emails. They'll remain visible in the Audience list but won't receive any further emails from that sequence and will have a Cancelled status.
Go to the Audience tab of the sequence.
Use the search bar or filters to find the recipients.
Select the recipients.
Click Cancel scheduled emails.
💡 Need to re-engage a specific lead? If you canceled a recipient's scheduled emails, you can still restore them individually later. Go to the Audience tab, find the cancelled recipient, and use the Restore canceled emails option from the blue actions menu or the Restore button, to re-enroll them in the sequence.
Add a follow-up step
Pause the sequence!
Go to the Content section.
Click Add step on the left side.
Write your follow-up content.
Resume the sequence when done.
Remove a follow-up step
You can only remove a follow-up if all three of these conditions are met:
No messages from that follow-up have been sent yet
The sequence is paused
There are no additional follow-up steps scheduled after the one you want to delete
To do so:
Pause the sequence.
Go to the Content section.
Find the follow-up on the left side and click Delete Step after selecting the 3 dots.
Add additional sender accounts for an existing sequence
You can add additional sender accounts to an active sequence without pausing it.
Emails will be distributed across accounts in rotation, respecting each account's daily sending limit.
ℹ️ Only new recipients or recipients not yet scheduled will be distributed across accounts. Already-scheduled emails won't be reassigned. Learn more about email account rotation here.
Go to the Settings tab of your sequence
Check one of the available accounts or click on Add account to add a new connection.
Emails will automatically be distributed.
💡You'll need to be on a paid plan and have at least two email accounts connected to use this feature.
Duplicate a sequence
To duplicate the content of an email sequence:
Open the sequence
Click the arrow next to the sequence title
Select Duplicate.
You'll be redirected to a new sequence with the same content and follow-up steps.
ℹ️ The audience is not duplicated — only the content.
Archive or delete a sequence
You can delete or archive an email sequence depending on whether it has already started.
Only sequences that are still in draft can be completely deleted. All other sequences must be archived.
Open the email sequence
click the arrow next to the title
select Archive or Delete.
ℹ️ Note:
Archive — for sequences that have already been launched. (Archived sequences can still be duplicated)
Delete — for sequences that have never been launched.
💡 Archiving a sequence cannot be undone.
Rename a sequence
To rename an email sequence and change it's title:
Open the sequence
Click the arrow next to the sequence title.
Select Rename
Enter the new name
Click Rename to save your changes.
