Running out of credits on a Data Platform plan

How to top up credits on a Data Platform plan, and what to expect when approaching your usage limit.

Updated yesterday

Data Platform plans are designed for API-only usage and follow a 12-month billing cycle. They work a little differently from our All-in-one outreach plans when it comes to topping up credits: this article walks through what to expect and how to get more credits when you need them.

What's different on Data Platform plans

Two features available on All-in-one outreach plans are not supported on Data Platform plans:

  • Credit Packs: extra credit top-ups can't be purchased on Data Platform plans

  • Auto-purchase: there's no automatic top-up when your balance runs low

Instead, you can purchase a new Data Platform plan at any time, and any unused credits will roll over into the new plan.

How you'll know you're running low

You'll automatically receive a notification email when your usage reaches 80% of your plan's credit limit. This gives you time to plan your next purchase before running out.

You can also monitor your usage in real time from your Dashboard or via the Account endpoint of our API.

How to get more credits

When you're ready to top up:

  1. Select the plan size that fits your expected usage

  2. Complete payment

Your new plan starts immediately, and your 12-month cycle resets from the new purchase date.

What happens to your unused credits

Any credits left from your current Data Platform plan are not lost. They're automatically carried over as an extra pack and remain available for the full duration of your new plan (12 months).

This means you can purchase a new plan whenever it makes sense for you, without worrying about losing what you've already paid for

Choosing the right plan size

Data Platform plans are volume-based, and the more credits you buy upfront, the lower the cost per credit becomes. If you're consistently using more than your current plan covers, scaling up to a larger plan is usually more cost-effective than purchasing smaller plans repeatedly.

You can compare credit volumes and per-credit pricing on the Data Platform pricing page.

πŸ’‘ Tip: All Data Platform plans are valid for 12 months from the purchase date.
