I've used all my yearly credits: what now?

You've reached your yearly credit limit on Hunter: here are your options to keep going, depending on which plan you're on.

So you've used up all the credits on your yearly Hunter plan? You can keep using Hunter without waiting for your next renewal: but the options available to you depend on which plan you're on.

If you're on a yearly All-in-one Outreach plan (Starter, Growth, or Scale)

You have two options:

Option 1: Buy a credit pack

  • One-time purchase, no commitment

  • โ‚ฌ10 / $10 / ยฃ8.40 per pack

  • Number of credits depends on your plan (100 / 300 / 500 credits)

  • Valid for 3 months from purchase

  • Available anytime from your Billing & subscription page

Option 2: Upgrade to a higher tier

  • Move to a higher All-in-one Outreach plan (e.g., Starter โ†’ Growth, Growth โ†’ Scale)

  • New credit allowance applies immediately for the next 12 months

  • Any unused credits from your previous plan roll over into a 12-month extra pack

If you're on a yearly Data Platform plan

Credit packs aren't available on Data Platform plans. To get more credits, you'll need to purchase a new Data Platform plan: your existing plan is replaced by the new one and starts a fresh 12-month cycle.

What stays the same

Regardless of which plan you're on:

  • Your account stays active. Running out of credits doesn't pause or downgrade your subscription.

  • Your features still work. You just can't use credit-consuming operations (Email Finder, Verifier, Domain Search, etc.) until you top up.

  • Your renewal date doesn't change. Your plan still renews on its original date.

Legacy credits over quota vs. Credit Packs

If you're on a grandfathered Starter, Growth, or Business plan, you may remember credits over quota โ€” the previous way of continuing to use Hunter after reaching your plan limit. Here's how it differs from today's Credit Packs:

  • Credits over quota (legacy): Usage beyond your plan limit was automatically tracked and billed afterwards, without a way to set spending limits.

  • Credit Packs (current): You purchase credits in advance, choose how many you want, and can optionally enable auto-purchase with a spending cap.

In both cases, you can continue using Hunter after reaching your plan limit โ€” but with Credit Packs, you have more visibility and control over your spending.

If you're on one of those grandfathered plans and don't see the option to purchase Credit Packs yet, contact support and we'll help you migrate.
