Find similar leads (lookalikes)

Learn how to expand your lead lists by finding new contacts that match the profile of your best existing leads.

If you already have a lead list with contacts that are a great fit, you can use Find Similar to expand that list with new leads that share the same profile. Hunter analyzes your seed leads and returns a batch of lookalikes (up to 1,000 results): people with similar roles, companies, industries, and locations.

How to use Find Similar for multiple leads

  1. Go to People Leads and open a people leads list.

  2. Select the leads you want to use as your seed.

  3. Click Find Similar in the toolbar.

  4. In the lookalikes panel, refine your results using the available filters.

  5. Review the results, then choose where to save them as you reveal them:

    • Save to the current list — adds the lookalikes directly to the list you're working in

    • Save to another list — lets you select or create a different list

  6. Click See in leads to jump to the newly added contacts in your list, isolated from the rest.

How to use Find Similar for individual leads

  1. In People Leads, click on the individual lead you are interested in to open their panel.

  2. Navigate to the Similar leads tab

  3. The results will populate automatically, and you can save them to a new or existing list

How to use Find Similar for Companies

You can also find companies sharing the same business profiles with the ones from your saved Company Leads.

  1. Go to Company Leads and open the list containing companies that interest you the most.

  2. Select the leads you want to use as your seed.

  3. Click Find Similar Companies in the toolbar.

  4. Review the results in the sidebar, then choose where you want to save them.

Tips

  • The quality of your results depends on the quality of your seed. A tighter, more homogeneous seed set (e.g. SDRs at SaaS companies in Europe) will return more precise lookalikes than a broad, mixed one.

  • Use People per company to avoid over-indexing on large companies — setting a lower number gives you a more diverse result set.

  • Location in the lookalikes panel matches the segment header, so what you filter is what you get.
