Credits over quota

Learn what credits over quota are and how to enable, disable and manage this option in your account

Updated over a week ago

Credits over quota are a flexible solution enabled once you've reached a paid plan's monthly or yearly quota of Search and/or Verification credits.

With this option, you won't have to wait until your billing cycle renews to have credits available again, as you can start using credits over quota at a unit price immediately.

You can use credits over quota on any paid plan, and the unit rates and limits vary according to the plan selected.

How to enable/disable credits over quota

Since January 8, 2025, credits over quota must be manually enabled during the checkout process when purchasing a new plan. Before that date, credits over quota were enabled by default for all subscriptions. No changes have been made to existing subscriptions.

When you purchase or upgrade/downgrade to a new plan, we'll give you the option to enable or disable access to Credits over quota.

You will be asked to enable this option by toggling the option Allow credits over quota.

πŸ‘‰ The Subscription Owner can also enable or disable Credits over quota later on the Subscription page in his account.

Simply click on the Edit link, in the Credits over quota section, and a popup message will show up:

Uncheck the option Allow credits over quota to disable credits over quota, or check it to allow credit usage over quota.

Credits over quota limits

Each paid plan has a maximum number of credits over quota based on their term, monthly or annual, and their type of plan.

πŸ’‘ By default, you can use the same amount of credits over quota as your plan's monthly or yearly credit limit.

Credits over the quota for monthly plans will reset each billing cycle. Instead, credits over quota for yearly plans will be available for the entire year until the end of the billing cycle and start as soon as the yearly credit limit included in the plan has been reached.

How to limit over quota credits

If you don't want your team to use more than a specific number of credits over quota, it's fairly simple to set a maximum limit of Search and Verification credits per month or year, based on the type of plan (monthly or yearly) you're on.

In the Subscription section of your account, click on Edit, in the Credits over quota section.

You can then set any number between 0 and the maximum available quota for Searches and Verifications in your plan:

These numbers can be edited anytime to ensure your team doesn't use more credits over quota than what has been established.

πŸ’‘ Monthly plans will have a monthly usage quota limit, whereas yearly plans' usage quota limits represent a 12-month plan duration and are referred to as a yearly quota limit.

Billing of credits over quota

Credits over quota are charged at a unit price and are billed at the end of each billing cycle or when reaching the billing threshold set at your current plan's cost.

The price for credits over quota is established when you sign up for the plan and is visible on the checkout page if you have selected to Allow Credits over quota.

If you have agreed to allow credits over quota usage, these are automatically enabled once you reach your monthly or yearly quota. You can monitor its usage in the menu at the bottom left or in the Usage section of your account.

Credits over quota are billed at the end of each billing cycle or when reaching the billing threshold set at your current plan's cost. They'll be included as an extra in your renewal invoice or as a standalone invoice if you have cancelled or paused your plan.
