Email Sequences Engagement

An overview of the Engagement section within Email Sequences

What is the Engagement section

The Engagement section within Sequences lets you track how individual recipients interact with your emails β€” specifically who is opening and clicking your content, and how often.

Engagement refers to a recipient activity, such as:

  • Opening an email

  • Clicking a link within an email

This section is more granular than the Reporting tab or the Statistics tab inside a given sequence. It lets you filter by engagement level and take direct actions on recipients, making it useful for identifying your most engaged prospects and deciding what to do next.

For example, if you want to send a follow-up to recipients who already opened or clicked a previous sequence, the Engagement section is the right place to start.

How opens and clicks are tracked

  • Opens are tracked using an invisible pixel added to each email, Hunter logs an open event each time a recipient loads the email.

  • Clicks are tracked when a recipient clicks any link in your email. Note that Hunter tracks the overall click rate only, not which specific link was clicked.

πŸ’‘ The Engagement section shows the total number of opens and clicks per recipient β€” so the same recipient can appear with multiple opens or clicks. The open and click rates shown in Reporting and in each sequence's Statistics tab are calculated differently: they count the percentage of recipients who opened or clicked at least one email, not the total number of events.

Both open and click tracking need to be enabled in the Settings tab of your sequence before sending. Open tracking is on by default; link click tracking requires a paid plan.
