Why Bulk Email Verification matters
Keeping your email lists clean and up to date is essential to be successful in your cold emailing. Bulk verification (verifying list of email addresses) helps you identify invalid, risky, or outdated addresses before sending email campaigns allowing you to:
Protect your sender reputation.
Improve campaign deliverability.
Prevent bounces.
Save credits by removing invalid or risky emails early.

How to Verify Emails in Bulk with Hunter
Step 1. Open the Bulk Email Verifier
Go to the Bulk section in your Hunter dashboard and select Email Verifier.
Step 2. Upload a CSV file or paste a list of email addresses
You will now have two options to import your list of emails: you can either upload a file, or copy and paste the list directly in Hunter:
Option 1: Upload a file
Click New bulk.
Name your file.
Select your CSV file and click Open, then Upload.
Option 2: Copy and paste a list of email addresses
You can also directly copy and paste a list of email addresses into the text box. Make sure to enter only one address per line or to separate the emails with a comma.
Step 3: Wait for processing
The verification starts automatically. You can leave the page: results will appear once processing is complete.
💡Processing times depend on the email server’s response speed (typically a fraction of a second but occasionally up to a few seconds) and the number of emails being processed.
Cancel the bulk process once it is launched
A bulk operation starts consuming credits as soon as it is launched. If you need to cancel a large email verification bulk due to issues such as an incorrect file, you can do so by clicking the Cancel button.
💡 This feature is particularly useful for larger bulks, which take longer to process. However, smaller bulks are processed almost instantly and typically cannot be cancelled effectively.
Once cancelled, we will tell you how many emails have been verified until the cancellation became effective and how many credits have been used.
How credits are counted
Verifying an email address costs 0.5 credit if you’re on an All-in-One Outreach plan — for example, verifying 100 emails will use 50 credits. However, no credits are deducted for Unknown emails, as these couldn't be verified due to various factors.
If you’re on a Data Platform plan with separate Search and Verification credits, each verified email will use 1 Verification credit.
Emails will only be verified based on the credits you have available; any additional rows will be skipped. Should you need additional credits, you can purchase an Extra pack of credits on a Standard plan or additional verification credits on a Data platform plan. Before launching the bulk, we'll let you know how many verification credits are needed to verify the emails on your list.
How to read and use your bulk verification results
Once the verification is complete, Hunter classifies each email into different statuses:
Valid – safe to send.
Invalid – email doesn’t exist or the domain rejects mail.
Accept all – server accepts all addresses; deliverability is uncertain.
Disposable – temporary or fake address.
Unknown – server didn’t respond.

You can download your verified list as a CSV or export only specific result types.
Summary:
Use Valid and Accept all results for sending.
Remove Invalid or Disposable emails to keep your list clean.
❓Can I paste a list of email addresses for verification if I don’t have a CSV file?
Absolutely! You can do that in the Enter the email addresses section in the Bulk Email Verifier: just paste them in, one per line.
How to verify leads in bulk
If you’ve already saved contacts in the Leads section, you can verify them directly:
Go to Leads.
Select multiple leads or click select all.
Click Verify emails.
Hunter will automatically verify your selected leads in bulk.
How to verify a Campaign audience
Before sending email campaigns in Hunter Campaigns, verify your audience list to reduce bounces and spam risks.
Upload or select your recipient list in the Audience tab.
Hunter will automatically recommend to verify all the unverified email addresses.
ℹ️ All invalid email addresses are automatically excluded from your campaign to help prevent bounces.
