The Domain Search helps you find professional email addresses associated with a domain, company name, or website.
Getting started with Domain Search
To start go to the Domain Search page and enter the domain name into the search bar on your dashboard.
If you don’t know the exact domain, you can also type the company name — Hunter will suggest possible matching domains for you to choose from.
Once selected, Hunter will return a list of available contacts associated with that domain, showing names, job titles, and other available details.
Email addresses are not revealed by default: you have full control over which emails you choose to reveal.
No Search credits are used until you decide to reveal an email.
What information can you find in the Domain Search?
Hunter will display the following data points if available.
Lead details:
Full name
Job title
Department
LinkedIn profile
Twitter profile
Sources (where the contact’s information was found publicly online)
ℹ️ Email addresses are only revealed when you actively choose to reveal them.
Each email reveal will use 1 Search credit.
Company details
Hunter also retrieves company-wide information, such as:
Company description
Social media links
Industry
Headcount
Address
Company type
Technologies used on the website
Similar companies (available on paid plans)
Follow company option for updates about new emails, funding rounds, and more
How Hunter shows sources for contacts
All contact details are collected from publicly available sources on the web.
After revealing an email address, click the arrow next to the number of sources to expand and view them.
Each source is an active link showing where and when the information was found.
This ensures transparency and traceability for each contact.
How to apply filters to your research
You can refine your search results by clicking on the available filter options as shown in the screenshot below.
Available filters:
Generic email addresses are role-based email addresses, like contact@ or support@.
Personal email addresses are professional email addresses of people inside an organization, like personal.name@hunter.com
Department: Filter emails by departments such as Executive, Sales, Marketing, HR, IT, Finance, and more. You can choose one or multiple departments.
Job title: Filter emails by job titles. You can choose one or multiple job titles.
Required fields: You can use this filter to show only contacts that have:
Full Name
Job Title
Phone Number (only available for personal emails - phone numbers are linked only to personal emails, not generic ones).
ℹ️ Here's a list of all the supported departments: Executive, IT / Engineering, Finance, Management, Sales, Legal, Support, Human Resources, Marketing, Writing & Communication, Education, Arts & Design, Medical & Health, Operations & Logistics.
Finding decision makers in Domain Search
Domain Search allows you to focus on leadership roles:
Click the Decision Makers tab to see senior contacts (CEOs, VPs, Directors, etc.).
Combine with Department and Job Title filters for more precise targeting.
You can reveal emails selectively for the decision makers you want to contact, making your outreach smarter and more efficient.
How to find a specific person's email?
If you know the name of the person you’re looking for:
Enter the full name in the search box after starting a Domain Search.
Hunter will show the contact and the corresponding email address if available, along with the verification status.
What is the Confidence Score?
Most of the revealed email addresses in Hunter are already verified and include a verification status, like this one:
ℹ️ You can find all the possible verification statuses here.
Emails that aren't verified include a Confidence Score:
Based on the number and quality of public sources and previous verification status.
A score of 90% or higher means a high likelihood of successful delivery, although it’s not a 100% guarantee.
Tip: For a real-time verification check, use the "Verify email address" button or use Hunter's Email Verifier. Both actions will use 1 Verification credit for each email.
How to reveal and export email addresses
After reviewing the list of contacts found for a domain or company:
You can select individual contacts or bulk select multiple contacts.
Click Reveal Email Address to reveal emails - 1 Search credit per email revealed.
To export the emails found as a CSV file:
After selecting the contacts you want (you can select single contacts, whole departments, or all results), click Export as CSV.
You can choose to:
Export all revealed emails
Export emails from specific departments
Export selected email addresses
ℹ️ You can export a maximum of 5000 email addresses per domain on any of our paid plans. Users on a Free plan can only export the first 10 results.
Already revealed emails won’t use additional Search credits at export.
Saving emails to Hunter Leads and adding emails to Campaigns
You can also save single and multiple email addresses and their associated contact information to a Leads list by simply clicking on the Save as lead button next to each contact.
You can also save multiple selected emails or emails from entire departments as leads by selecting the emails and then choose Save to Leads:
You can choose the lead list you want to save the emails to using the dropdown menu.
ℹ️ In case you have already revealed the emails you are saving as leads, no credits will be used.
The Add to a campaign option provides you with the choice to add this lead to an existing campaign or to directly create a new campaign to add this lead to.
Once you have saved your leads, you can manage them later on, use them in Campaigns, or export them to a CSV file. You can find out more about the Leads functionality here.
Finally, you can copy a single email address by clicking on it:
How to follow a company for updates?
You can also follow the companies you research. This will create a new Company Signal.
Signals will provide users with updates when the companies they follow receive new rounds of funding, post new job opportunities, or when new email addresses become available.
