Billing for customers registered in India

What customers registered in India need to know when purchasing a Hunter subscription, GSTIN requirements, reverse charge taxes, and India-specific terms.

If your business is registered in India, there are a few specifics about purchasing and being billed for a Hunter subscription. This article covers what you need to know.

GSTIN is required for purchase

To comply with Indian tax regulations, we require customers registered in India to provide their business GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) when purchasing a paid Hunter subscription.

  • You'll be prompted to enter your GSTIN at checkout

  • The GSTIN is added to your billing details and will appear on every invoice

  • Hunter is a B2B service, individual consumers without a valid GSTIN can't purchase a paid plan

You can update your GSTIN at any time from your Billing & subscription page β†’ Overview tab β†’ Billing details β†’ Edit information.

Reverse charge, you handle the taxes

Hunter is registered in the United States, not in India, so we don't collect GST on your behalf. Your invoices include:

  • Your GSTIN

  • A mention indicating that taxes should be paid on a reverse charge basis

Under the reverse charge mechanism, you (the customer) are responsible for paying the applicable GST directly to the Indian tax authorities as part of your regular returns. Your accountant or tax advisor will know how to handle this.

Payment method

India-registered customers can pay with:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe

Recurring international payments from India are subject to RBI regulations, including 3D Secure authentication on every renewal.
