This article covers how to pay for your Hunter subscription: accepted payment methods, billing cycles, currencies, and what to do if something doesn't work.
Accepted payment methods
Hunter uses Stripe as our secure payment processor. We accept:
Credit and debit cards (all plans, monthly or yearly):
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB
Most major debit cards
Bank transfers via Stripe (yearly plans only):
Available on yearly subscriptions - contact our support team to set it up, we'll help you process the payment
Wire transfers / ACH (Enterprise contracts):
Handled directly by your Account Manager as part of your annual contract (this applies only to Enterprise and Data Platform plans).
Not seeing your preferred payment method? Contact our support team and we'll let you know what we can do.
Billing cycles
Hunter offers two billing cycles for paid plans:
Monthly: charged on the same day each month (e.g., if you subscribed on the 15th, you're charged on the 15th of each month). You'll get monthly invoices.
Yearly: charged once a year, upfront.
π Want to switch between monthly and yearly? See Change your plan (upgrade, downgrade, or switch to yearly).
Currencies supported
Your billing currency is determined by your billing country (set in your billing address):
USD ($): default for most countries
EUR (β¬): for European Union countries
GBP (Β£): for the United Kingdom
Currency is set at the time of your first purchase and stays the same for renewals. If you move countries or want to change currency, contact our support team.
When does Hunter charge me?
Initial purchase: charged immediately at checkout, plan activates right away.
Renewals: charged automatically on your renewal date (visible on the Next payment card of your Billing & subscription page).
Credit packs: charged at the time you click "Buy credits."
Add-ons (additional email account slots, domains, Inbox Protection): charged on their own renewal cycle, shown in the Additional subscriptions section.

For accounting & finance teams
If your company needs documentation before the purchase can go through internally, here's what we offer:
Proforma invoice or quote before purchase
Self-serve subscriptions are pay-first, meaning the standard invoice is generated automatically at the moment of purchase. If your accounting department needs a proforma invoice or quote before payment can be approved, contact our support team and we'll prepare one. Please include:
The plan you want (e.g., Growth Yearly)
Your billing country and your company's legal name and address
Your VAT number if applicable
We typically provide these for Yearly plans only.
Purchase orders (POs)
POs are available for Enterprise customers only. If your company requires a PO-based purchasing process, your Account Manager will handle it as part of your annual contract. If you're not yet on Enterprise and you need a PO-based process, contact our support team and we'll route you to sales.
VAT numbers on invoices
Hunter is registered in the United States, so we don't charge VAT, GST, or sales tax by default. If you need a VAT number displayed on your invoices (for accounting or compliance in your country), add it to your Billing details on the Billing & subscription page, it will appear on all future invoices.
Country-specific notes
India
Customers registered in India have additional payment requirements due to RBI regulations.
