How is sales tax handled?
How is sales tax handled?
Following a decision by the US Supreme Court (South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc.), Hunter is now required to collect and remit Sales Tax. This decision applies even if we don't have a physical presence in a State.
Sales tax requirements vary significantly by state:
Not all states currently enforce sales tax collection for online services.
Among states that do, some specifically exclude SaaS (Software as a Service) from taxation.
Thresholds for tax collection also vary by state, and we are only required to collect sales tax once we surpass these individual state thresholds.
At Hunter, we simplify this process for you. Before each subscription or renewal, we automatically check applicable sales tax rates based on your business location and update your invoice accordingly.
If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding sales tax, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll be happy to help!

How does billing work for customers in India?
How does billing work for customers in India?
To comply with Indian regulations, we require customers registered in India to provide their business' GSTIN when purchasing a paid subscription on Hunter. Because Hunter is a B2B service, consumers without a valid GSTIN will not be able to make a purchase.
On your invoices, you'll be able to see your GSTIN and a mention indicating that taxes should be paid on a reverse charge basis. Please note that you're responsible for paying those taxes.
Our Terms of Service include a section dedicated to customers registered in India, which you can find here.
What should I do if my payment is declined?
What should I do if my payment is declined?
If your payment is declined, it’s typically due to a decision made by your bank or card issuer. While we can’t override these decisions, here are steps you can take to resolve the issue quickly:
Verify all payment details: Ensure your CVC, cardholder name, and billing address exactly match your bank’s records.
Ensure you have enough funds or aren't hitting a spending limit.
Try another card: If possible, attempt the transaction with a different credit or debit card.
Contact your bank: Reach out to your bank or card issuer to authorize future payments and resolve potential restrictions.
If you need assistance with the payment, do not hesitate to contact us.
Can I request a refund?
Can I request a refund?
No. According to our Terms of Service, Hunter subscriptions are non-refundable.
However, you can cancel your subscription at any time through the Subscription section of your account. After cancellation, you’ll retain access to all benefits and credits associated with your paid plan until the current billing cycle ends. At that point, your account will automatically revert to the Free Plan.
For detailed information, please review our Terms of Service, or feel free to contact us if you have further questions.
Can I get an invoice for my subscription?
Can I get an invoice for my subscription?
Yes, invoices are automatically generated after each purchase or renewal.
All invoices are available at the bottom of the Subscription section of your Hunter account.
You can view and download them at any time from the bottom of the page. You can also set a separate email address there if you'd like invoice notifications sent to a different inbox.
💡If you can't see any invoices, you're likely a member of a team rather than the subscription owner. Only the team owner can access and manage invoices.
Can I change my billing address or company name on invoices?
Can I change my billing address or company name on invoices?
Once an invoice has been paid, it can't be modified directly. This is due to accounting requirements and limitations in our billing system, as a US-registered company, Hunter is also unable to issue VAT invoices.
That said, you can update your billing details at any time from the Subscription section of your account. All future invoices will automatically reflect the updated information.
Need to correct a past invoice? We can exceptionally help by issuing a credit note against the original invoice and generating a new one with the correct details. The new invoice will show a zero value since the credit will be used to cover the payment.
Contact our support team and we'll take care of it for you.

Which subscription plan is right for me?
Which subscription plan is right for me?
Hunter offers two types of plans depending on how you use the platform.
All-in-one outreach platform plans
Built for users who want the full access to the Hunter platform — finding emails, discovering companies, and sending cold email sequences — all in one place. Available as monthly and yearly subscriptions.
All-in-one outreach plans (Free, Starter, Growth, and Scale) include Hunter's core features. The main differences between the tiers are:
Credits — used to find and verify professional email addresses
Email account connections — number of mailboxes you can connect for sending sequences
Sequence limits — maximum recipients per email sequence
Team features — collaboration and usage controls, available on higher tiers
Data Platform plans
Designed for users who need Hunter API or bulk tools only. Available only as yearly plans, but can be renewed at any time.
These plans focus purely on Search and Verification — there's no access to Sequences or Discover.
Data Platform plans come with two separate credit quotas:
Search credits — used to find professional email addresses
Verification credits — used to verify email addresses
How many credits do I get?
How many credits do I get?
Each of our All-in-One Outreach plans includes a different number of credits.
Data Plans for API users, on the other hand, can be tailored to your exact credit needs. However, they provide limited access to the platform and are designed specifically for API and bulk usage.
Monthly all-in-one plans:
Plan | Free | Starter | Growth | Scale |
Credits | 50 | 2,000 | 10,000 | 25,000 |
Yearly all-in-one plans plans:
Plan | Free | Starter | Growth | Scale |
Credits | 50/mo | 24,000 | 120,000 | 300,000 |
Credits are shared across your team, and you can set per-member usage limits in Team settings.
If you hit your limit, you can purchase extra credit packs (valid 3 or 12 months depending on your plan's term) or upgrade your plan at any time.
How many email accounts to send sequences can I connect?

Each of our All-in-one plans includes a set number of email account connections for sending sequences:
Plan | Free | Starter | Growth | Scale |
Email connections | 1 | 3 | 10 | 20 |
Recipients per sequence | 500 | 2,500 | 5,000 | 15,000 |
If you need more, there are two ways to expand:
Purchase additional connection slots — connect more of your existing email accounts to Hunter at a monthly price.
Buy managed email accounts — purchase new domains and email accounts directly through Hunter, preconfigured and ready to use with no DNS setup required.
💡Data platform plans don't include access to Sequences.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly plans?
What's the difference between monthly and yearly plans?
Here's a quick overview of our different subscription terms and their benefits:
🗓️ Yearly plans
Yearly billing plans have a 12-month commitment and a single billing at the start of the plan. They are great for users who need Hunter for a bit longer than a month and are looking for a cheaper and more flexible option. They are particularly useful for users who might not need many credits in certain months but may require more credits in others.
Some of the key advantages of our yearly plans include:
Credits duration: are immediately available for the entire year.
Credits expiration: credits do not expire monthly but only at the end of the 12-month billing cycle.
Credit packs: available.
Pause option: not available.
Upgrade/downgrade: can be upgraded or downgraded to a different yearly plan at any time and the cost of the new plan is billed. Unused credits are rolled over in an extra pack for 12 months.
Saving: 30% reduction compared to monthly plans - reflected on the pricing page.
Team: can be shared with unlimited team members at no extra cost.
🗓️ Monthly plans
A monthly billing plan also has its advantages. While this type of subscription is a bit more expensive in the long term, it has no commitment and can be cancelled or paused at any time. We would recommend a monthly plan for users who are not ready to commit to a full year or need Hunter for smaller projects.
Credits duration: credits are available for 1 month.
Credits expiration: credits will expire at the end of the monthly billing cycle.
Credit packs: available.
Pause option: the renewal of a monthly plan can be paused anytime and restored with a 30% discount applied to the first renewal.
Upgrade/downgrade: can be upgraded or downgraded at any time and the cost of the new plan is billed. Unused credits are rolled over in an extra pack for 3 months if you switch to a monthly plan or 12 months if you switch to a yearly plan.
Saving: no discounts applied.
Team: can be shared with unlimited team members at no extra cost.

Credit packs are billed instantly and do not renew automatically
Credits from packs are valid for 3 months, giving you flexibility to use them as needed

Can I purchase Search or Verification credits only?
While on a Data Platform plan, you can purchase only Search credits or only Verification credits to match your exact needs. These plans don’t include access to the full Hunter platform and are specifically built for API and bulk usage. More on Data Platform plans here.
Standard plans include a fixed number of credits you can use for searches or verifications in any mix. There’s no need to choose a credit type, you can spend your entire credit balance on either or both. When you reach your quota, you can buy extra credit packs or upgrade.
What are credits?
What are credits?
Credits are the currency used to find and verify email addresses in Hunter.
On All-in-one outreach plans, credits come from a single unified pool used for both finding and verifying emails.
On Data Platform plans, credits are split into two separate quotas — Search credits (for finding emails) and Verification credits (for verifying them) — purchased independently.
💡 Credits are shared across your whole team and reset each billing period.
For a full breakdown of how credits are counted per tool, see How do credits work in Hunter?
Will my credits reset?
Will my credits reset?
Yes, unused credits from previous billing period do not roll over. However how they reset depends on your billing cycle:
Monthly plans — credits reset monthly at the start of each billing period
Yearly plans — the full year's credits are available upfront and do not reset monthly, but only after the 12 month period.
Data Platform plans, as for yearly plans, credits are valid for 12 months from the purchase date and do not reset prior the 12 months billing cycle is over.
If you run out before your reset date, you can purchase additional credit packs at any time on an all-in-one platform plan, or purchase a new data plan.

What's the difference between credits and credit packs?
What's the difference between credits and credit packs?
Credits are the monthly or yearly allowance included in your plan, used to find and verify email addresses. They reset at the end of each billing period.
Credit packs are additional credits you can purchase on top of your paid all-in-one plan. Unlike plan credits, they don't reset and are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase and carry over even if you downgrade or cancel your plan.
Hunter always uses your plan credits first, then draws from your credit packs, starting with whichever pack expires soonest.
💡Credit packs are not available on Free or Data plans

Feature FAQs
Can I send emails with Hunter?
Can I send emails with Hunter?
Yes, you can send single emails or create email sequences in Hunter Sequences.
You can integrate Hunter with your Gmail or Outlook account and send up to 400 emails per day for free with Gmail, and up to 250 emails per day with Outlook.
Starting with our Starter Plan, you also have the option to connect your professional email account through SMTP/IMAP and send up to 250 emails a day for each connected account.
💡 It's important to note that sending higher volumes can negatively impact the overall deliverability of your email sequences. For each email account connected to Sequence, we set a default daily sending limit of 15 emails.
We recommend only increasing this limit once you're seeing consistently high open and reply rates in your email sequences to maintain strong deliverability.
👉Learn more on how to warm up your email domain for sending here.
Users on a paid plan can connect more than one email account per team. This helps increase the daily sending limit and access the Email Account Rotation feature to limit the risk of getting your account blocked by your email service provider.
For further information about our paid plans, you can visit our pricing page.
