Email Sequences Settings

An overview of Email Sequences's Settings section

Updated today

Inside Sequences, you will find a Settings section, which allows you to:

The Sending Window section

In the Sending Window section, you can set a schedule for when your emails will be sent out, set an average delay between emails and determine whether follow-ups or initial emails have priority. Improper configuration of the Sending Window can lead to sequence interruptions, as overlapping or conflicting schedules may cause sending to pause or slow down. Always ensure that your sending times and days align to prevent scheduling conflicts within or across sequences.

To define when your sequence emails are allowed to be sent, simply check or uncheck the days that fit your schedule. A time window will be set to determine the hours during which emails can be sent, allowing you to adjust it to fit your preferred sending hours.

By default, a 30-second average delay is applied between each email to simulate natural sending behaviour and help maintain your email reputation. You can increase this delay if needed, up to a maximum of 600 seconds (10 minutes). The minimum delay is fixed at 30 seconds.

By default, initial emails are prioritised over follow-ups when there’s a conflict in the sending schedule. If you check the option “Prioritise follow-ups over initial emails,” follow-up messages will be sent first, ensuring timely follow-up communication before sending new initial emails. This option is particularly useful when you notice delays in sending follow-up steps (e.g., Step 2) of your sequence, while initial outreach emails (e.g., Step 1) continue to be sent. Enabling follow-up prioritisation ensures timely and logical sequence execution, addressing common delays experienced in sequence workflows.

The Email Accounts section

In the Email Accounts section, you can connect the email accounts from which you wish to send your email sequences. Here, you can also edit the daily sending limit (15 by default), select a sender and change your sender name by clicking on the Edit button on the right side of your connected email account. If multiple sequences use the same sender address simultaneously, it can cause one or more sequences to pause or slow down due to sender address overload. To prevent this, consider assigning different sender addresses to different sequences or carefully scheduling sequences to avoid conflicts.

The Custom Domain section

In the Custom Domain section, you can set up your custom tracking domain.

A custom tracking domain lets you track email opens and clicks using your own web address instead of Hunter’s. It helps your emails look more professional and reach inboxes more reliably.

For details on how to set this up, refer to the help guide here.

The Webhooks section

In the Webhooks section, you can create and set up webhooks for your email sequences.

Webhooks are notifications of Email Sequences events that Hunter sends to another application. They are typically used to create lightweight integrations between Hunter and a third-party application.

The Unsubscribe sentence section

In the Unsubscribe sentence section, you can edit the unsubscribe sentence for all of your email sequences.

Troubleshooting Email Sequence Issues

When running email sequences, disruptions such as paused sending or delays in follow-up emails may occur. Below are common issues and solutions:

  1. Follow-Up Delays: Ensure the prioritisation of follow-ups is enabled in the Sending Window section to maintain logical email sequences.

  2. Sequence Stops Mid-Send: Check if multiple sequences are sharing the same sender address and adjust sending schedules or use different sender addresses to address conflicts. Implementing these troubleshooting steps as part of your routine sequence management can prevent potential disruptions and ensure smooth sequence operations.
