Yes! If you already have a list of leads you want to import to Hunter, the Leads Import feature will allow you to upload it.
How to import a list of leads
👉 To import a list to your leads, follow these steps after clicking on + Import leads inside your People Leads section. The process involves 3 different steps:
Upload file: Uploading the CSV file
Map Columns: mapping the columns
Settings: Configure your upload
💡 Your import file must use commas or semicolons as delimiters, and each row must contain either an email address, or a name with company information (website or company name).
Upload a file: Click on + Import leads and upload the CSV or TXT file that contains your leads or companies.
Map your columns: Now click on Next and start mapping the columns from your existing file to Hunter attributes:
Map columns to default attributes in Hunter;
Map to your custom attributes in Hunter;
Or even create a new attribute on the fly.
If your import file includes headers, toggle the option Headers in first row. Click on Next
Settings: here you can define rules for how your upload should be configured. Here, you’ll find two types of actions: one focused on enriching your data for free, and another that controls the options for where and how the data will be imported.
Enrich your data for free: For every email address you import, Hunter will automatically enrich it with any available data points — at no additional cost to you. You can configure this if you don't wish to override certain data by selecting the columns where Hunter shouldn't override your data.
Choose whether Hunter should find email addresses for leads that don’t already have them, and decide if you’d also like to verify the emails you import. (1 credit per email found · 0.5 credit per email verified)
Options: Decide whether you wish to add the imported leads to a new or existing leads list.
If you want to add leads to a specific list, simply check the option, and the setup fields will appear.
Now select whether you wish to create a new leads list or select an existing one. Give the leads list a name and, if you wish, add it to a folder (this can also be done later in the process).
Finally, decide how Hunter should cope with existing contacts. You have 3 options here:
Don’t import existing contacts
Ignore existing leads from the import; existing leads will stay in their current list.
Copy existing contacts to this list
This will update existing contacts, keep them in the original list and add them to the list related to this import.
Move existing contacts to this list
This will update and move contacts that already exist to the list related to this import.
After you start the import, the leads will be added to your selected list. This process can take a few minutes if you have thousands of leads.
Access your previous imports
Lastly, to access your history of past imports, click on Configuration at the bottom left of your Leads section and click on Import history.
